On the afternoon of December 14th, the 2024 NEST National E-Sports Grand Finals and the Wuzhenshi E-Sports Festival kicked off in the ancient Minnan district of Jinjiang City, Fujian Province, with a history of over 1300 years!

The opening ceremony was elevated to a climax with a vibrant traditional lion dance performance, blending strength and beauty. Leaders such as Yue Yan, Deputy Director of the National Sports Bureau’s Sports Information Center, Wu Zunyi, Deputy Mayor of Jinjiang Municipal People’s Government, Xu Huangdeng, Deputy Director of Quanzhou City Sports Bureau, Yu Kunpeng, Deputy Director of Quanzhou City’s Industry and Information Technology Bureau, Zhang Shiqin, a fourth-level investigator at Quanzhou City Data Management Bureau, Chen Chunquan, Deputy General Manager of Fujian Big Data Group Quanzhou Co.
, Ltd., and Zheng Shulin, a second-level investigator at the Digital Economy Office of Fujian Province Data Management Bureau, jointly inaugurated the event, marking the splendid start of the 2024 NEST National E-Sports Tournament’s annual finals and the Wuzhenshi E-Sports Festival! On the opening day, the virtual cycling event concluded first, with Zhang Hao and Cheng Liangqiong winning the women’s and men’s titles in a thrilling competition. The popular e-sports game, League of Legends, also held its offline semi-finals on the first day, with teams FPX, OMG, TES, and LGD emerging from a week-long online battle and competing at the Zhuangyuan Xi Lou in Wuzhenshi, Jinjiang City. On December 15th, in addition to the League of Legends final, the long-awaited new lineups of AL and LNG teams made their debut, bringing a BO3 exhibition match and surprising moments to the event and audience. The virtual rowing event, integrating water sports and digital technology, also showcased a clash of strength and skill, with women’s individual, men’s individual, and team relay races, offering a series of exciting virtual sports events that allowed the audience to deeply appreciate the charm and vitality of virtual sports. On December 16th, the virtual sports event, FCOnline football simulation, will make a significant appearance as the finale of this event. Asian Games players WolvesGa Liu Jiacheng and EVGyuwenc7 Li Sijun will take the stage, and players will replicate the exquisite tactical cooperation on the real football field in a realistic virtual setting, presenting a peak match of technology and strategy. Besides the competitions, the Hero Congress interactive experience activities will meet everyone at Jinwen Square in the North District of Wuzhenshi over three days. The Hero Congress deeply integrates the passion of e-sports with the profound cultural heritage of Jinjiang’s local culture, creating a series of novel and culturally rich experience projects. Virtual cycling, electronic dance, and other challenge projects lead the trend, allowing participants to enjoy the dual pleasures of speed and rhythm in the digital world. Magnificent Jinjiang Lion Dance, melodious Gaojia Opera, exquisite palm puppetry, singing and dancing Suoluolian, and elegant Nan Yin music, each performance is a deep tribute to the essence of traditional culture. At the same time, the parade also integrated trendy and dynamic cycling performances, injecting modern vitality into the ancient alleys, allowing tradition and modernity to collide in a unique way through speed and passion. It is worth mentioning that cosplayers dressed as classic characters from League of Legends roamed through the ancient streets and alleys, interacting closely with the audience, allowing every participant to personally experience the unique charm of the integration of traditional and modern cultures. The 2024 NEST National E-Sports Tournament Annual Finals and Wudian Market E-Sports Festival brought a more colorful experience to citizens and tourists, fully demonstrating Jinjiang’s unique charm and profound heritage as a city of sports.
