According to IT Home citing Kechuang Board Daily, in response to the news that WeChat plans to fully open the ‘send gift’ function of WeChat Store before the Spring Festival, Tencent responded that currently the ‘send gift’ function is gradually being gray-scaled and actual experience shall prevail.
As reported by IT Home earlier, WeChat Store recently conducted gray-scale testing of the ‘send gift’ function and released the relevant usage guide on December 17.
It is understood that except for jewelry and educational training categories, other WeChat Store products will default to supporting the ‘send gift’ function, and the original price of product styles must not be higher than 10,000 yuan.
Products and stores that meet the rules will automatically activate the ‘send gift’ function. Users can tap ‘Send to Friend’ to pull up the ‘Confirm Gift’ page. After choosing the style, viewing the amount, selecting a friend and completing the payment, the gift will be sent automatically. The receiving address is filled in by the recipient. Before receiving the gift, the recipient can also choose to replace it with other styles of the same price under this product.
