According to Pear Video, on December 23rd, Didi responded to the issue of #increasing difficulty in hailing non-odorous cars# by stating: ‘As winter approaches, drivers aim to keep the car warm by reducing the frequency of window opening, resulting in many user complaints about encountering “odorous cars” and complaints about unpleasant smells inside the vehicle; meanwhile, drivers also face challenges during long hours of service.
We sincerely apologize and feel ashamed for not providing a fresh travel environment, affecting the user experience. Currently, Didi is conducting a special campaign against odorous cars, implementing measures such as launching a function to blacklist odorous cars, suspending service for drivers with high rates of negative feedback on air quality for training and education, and conducting positive incentive assessments for driver services to improve the user experience. ‘ Didi has launched nationwide driver education and announcements, reminding drivers to ventilate after each ride and maintain cleanliness inside the car. Additionally, the platform invites users to rate the odor conditions inside the car through pop-up questionnaires during the journey, providing feedback to the platform on whether the car is fresh. Recently, the platform will also introduce ‘fragrant cars’ in cities like Beijing, laying scent cards in clean and tidy vehicles, and ‘warm winter surprise cars’ in cities such as Hangzhou, Nanjing, and Qingdao, allowing passengers to feel warmth and fragrance as soon as they enter the car in the cold winter.
