He Tongxue’s Video Accused of Misleading Audience with ‘Word Play’

According to reports from Dongfang Finance, a netizen posted a comment claiming that He Tongxue’s new video plays with ‘word games’. The netizen pointed out that in the video released on December 23, He Tongxue mentioned that trees were cut out with scissors, trimming over 6,000 small trees: ‘This led the audience to mistakenly believe that these 6,000 trees were all cut by hand, but in fact, they were not.

Only the initial tree shape was cut by hand, and the rest were mass-produced in a factory. Both the barrage and the comment section are questioning this, with a netizen commenting that it could be directly stated in the video narration that it was factory-made, without misleading the audience into thinking they were hand-cut.’ Dongfang Finance found that He Tongxue’s original words in the video were: ‘We bought several types of paper, designed the shape of the tree.

.. So we switched to water-absorbing paper, cut out the shape of the tree with scissors, and finally succeeded. Since we might have to shoot many times, we 3D printed over 2,000 sets of water-retaining bases and trimmed over 6,000 small trees.’ The netizen expressed that He Tongxue’s copywriting skills are still very high, and such imprecise wording is indeed inappropriate, especially after similar code incidents in the past.

‘We cut over 6,000 trees and we had a factory cut over 6,000 trees’ have completely different implications. Currently, comments on He Tongxue’s imprecise copywriting have been deleted. After being questioned by the audience, He Tongxue also explained in the comment section that it was made in a factory to meet the video schedule.
