Indy’s New Adventure: ‘Raiders of the Lost Circle’ – A Stunning 3A Game

Game Overview: The classic ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ series is a cinematic masterpiece. Dr. Indiana Jones’s thrilling and amusing adventures have left a lasting impression, with many scenes still talked about today. ‘Raiders of the Lost Circle,’ released on December 9th, adds an exciting new experience to this legendary series. This AAA title is developed by Machine Games, the team behind ‘Wolfenstein,’ and supervised by Todd Howard, producer of ‘The Elder Scrolls.

‘ Players take on the role of Indiana Jones, embarking on a puzzle-solving adventure in 1937 to uncover the secrets of the ancient circle and combat the nefarious forces that seek to exploit this power. The game’s exquisite graphics, stunning scene creation, and plot and performance filled with the original spirit have quickly garnered unanimous praise from players and media, boasting a 90% positive rating on Steam.

The game features full native ray tracing, making the visuals, especially the cutscenes, feel like reliving the classic films. Shortly after its release, the game was updated with path tracing (full ray tracing) on top of its original ray tracing and DLSS 3.5 ultra-resolution + frame generation, offering improved vegetation subsurface scattering, indoor reflections, and sun shadow effects. With path tracing enabled, the changes are quite noticeable; leaves appear more translucent, sunlight projections softer, and reflections on glass and water more natural.

Of course, this feature demands a higher performance from graphics cards. The recommended configuration for ‘Raiders of the Lost Circle’ is a GeForce RTX 3080Ti, and the game’s PC version is known for its high VRAM usage. We conducted a test to see how the new full ray tracing performs on various graphics cards.
