Recently, YouTuber SwitchUp showcased a Nintendo Switch 2 shell model provided by Chinese accessory manufacturer iVoler and restored the rumored new console’s appearance through 3D printing.
Video: Nintendo plans to announce its next-generation console before April next year, but a series of recent leaks seem to reveal some details of the console. It is reported that over the past month, not only have there been videos circulating about the magnetic Joy-Con controllers for Switch 2, but also some images showing its accessories have been exposed. The YouTuber from SwitchUp channel stated that they received a Switch 2 shell model and a 3D-printed console shell from iVoler.
iVoler claims to have obtained the design specifications and templates for Switch 2, but has not seen the actual console. Based on this, they created the console shell through 3D printing to develop accessories such as protective cases for the new console. According to the video comparison, this Switch 2 has a larger screen compared to the existing Switch OLED model, slightly larger handle sizes, and more rounded edges.
Additionally, a new button has been added to the right handle, which is consistent with previous leak information. Moreover, the video also compared the model with Valve’s Steam Deck, showing that Switch 2 has a larger screen than Steam Deck’s 7.4-inch screen, while the overall size of the console is smaller. There are rumors that Switch 2 will be equipped with an 8-inch LCD screen, which may have been further confirmed.
The 3D-printed model shows that Switch 2 also has changes in interface design, such as the addition of a USB-C port. However, since the manufacturers have not actually touched the console, the accuracy of these details still needs to be confirmed, and players should be cautious about the related information.
