Xiaomi SU7 Accident: Driver Fell Asleep with Autopilot On

Recently, a Xiaomi SU7 owner shared on social media platforms that after enabling intelligent driving on the highway, due to extreme fatigue, he accidentally fell asleep. As a result, he accidentally stepped on the accelerator and directly rear-ended a large truck in front. According to the owner, his speed at that time reached around 100 km/h. However, since the SU7, as a sedan, has a relatively low chassis, the front of the car directly went under the chassis of the large truck.

Judging from the post-accident photos shared by the owner, the front of the SU7 was severely damaged. The hood was completely destroyed, revealing the front trunk. The left headlight was smashed, exposing the anti-collision beam. The front windshield was also broken due to compression. However, the A-pillar remained intact.

The owner emphasized that it was his own fault for stepping on the accelerator while asleep with intelligent driving on and it had nothing to do with Xiaomi’s intelligent driving system. He was unharmed except for slightly dirty clothes.

It is worth mentioning that there was previously news that a family of four was driving a Xiaomi SU7 Pro for fun when unfortunately they fell off a cliff. They plunged down a cliff about twenty or thirty meters high. After flipping over, they were blocked by trees. Fortunately, due to the solid body of the car, none of the family members were in life-threatening danger.
